Daughter of the Night (1920)

This German melodrama starring blonde bombshell Lee Parry is notable only for containing an early appearance of future horror icon Bela Lugosi. Lugosi plays a French count who falls for a Russian cabaret singer turned spy for the revolutionary forces (Miss Parry). Happily, Bela's recently jilted girlfriend (Violette Napierska) just happens to be an undercover agent for the opposing forces. The film, whose German title, Der Tanz Auf Dem Vulkan, translates into something like "Dancing on a Vulcano ", was originally released in two episodes: "Sybil Young" and "Der Tod des Grossfursten" ("The Death of the Grand Duke").

The only problem comes when Legendre keeps the fetching girl for himself -- and her new husband (John Harron) comes to Madeline's rescue.

The Black Cat is a 1934 American horror film directed by Edgar G. Ulmer and starring Béla Lugosi and Boris Karloff. The picture was the first of eight movies (six of which were produced by Universal) to pair the two iconic actors. It became Universal Pictures' biggest box office hit of the year, and was also notable for being one of the first movies with an almost continuous music score. Lugosi also appeared in the 1941 film with the same title.

He decides to get revenge by altering bats to grow twice their normal size and training them to attack when they smell a perfume of his own making. He mixes the perfume into a lotion, which he offers as a gift to Mary and Henry. When they turn up dead, a newspaper reporter (Dave O'Brien) decides to investigate.

The Return of the Vampire (1943)

When a friend of Lady Jane Ainsley (Frieda Inescort) becomes Tesla's next victim, Jane and an acquaintance stalk the vampire and kill him by driving a stake through his heart. But 23 years later, a German bomb disturbs Tesla's grave, and cemetery workers restoring the site pull the stake from his corpse, bringing him back to life to seek revenge.
